When applying for a teaching job in China, many schools and recruiters will request an introductory video as part of the application process. The video lets schools know you better and assess your communication skills. Here are some tips on how to create a successful introductory video:

First, introduce yourself and your qualifications. Start by stating your name, where you are from, and your teaching qualifications. It's important to emphasize any teaching experience and certifications or degrees you hold. Make sure to speak clearly and confidently, and avoid using filler words like "um" or "like." You want to come across as professional and well-spoken.

Next, showcase your personality and teaching style. Use the video as an opportunity to show off your enthusiasm for teaching and your ability to connect with students. Share why you are passionate about teaching and what methods you use to engage students. Being genuine and authentic in your video is essential; schools want to see your personality shine through. Consider including clips of you teaching in a classroom setting or engaging with students to give schools a better idea of your teaching style. Remember to keep the video concise and to the point, aiming for no more than 2-3 minutes in length.
